Tolima is one of nine coffee growing regions where InConexus has a presence, and it is the third-largest coffee producing region of Colombia. The coffee sector in Tolima belongs to small and medium-scale coffee growers. The significant difference of the department is that the coffee culture is relatively new and that has diverse ecosystems which enable different harvesting seasons, therefore, fresh coffee throughout the year. The region is a leader in organizing the different quality coffee events in Colombia, and one of the reasons is the diversity of microclimates, of production systems and relatively is what Mr. Artunduaga dream is about.
Mr. Artunduaga bought his Risaralda farm 18 years ago and since he is living and working here. The coffee cultivation was always a tradition in their family and therefore was not difficult to decide to continue that dedication. He attends several pieces of training to learn more about coffee qualities, processing but also varietals. Mr. Artunduaga is not only learning but mainly putting all his gain knowledge and experience into practice. It helps him to improve the quality of the coffee and alone living for him and his family. They are blessed with the soil richer in nutrients, and together with the care he gives in all he does, it is that Mr. Artunduaga produces high-quality coffee. He is also a member of coffee growers’ cooperative, through which he likes to share on his practices within the community and help to sustain the coffee growing coffee in the region.
