The Reko washing station is located near the town of Kochere in the Yirgacheffe growing region. Reko translates to "challenge", a reference to the difficulty of ascending Reko-Mountain, the tall and steep mountain that overlooks Kochere. The founders of the washing station took the mountain's namesake as a reminder to themselves to cultivate and produce the best coffee in Yirgacheffe. This particular lot is composed of Kurume - a native Ethiopia variety often referred to as "Yirgacheffe coffee" - and other Mixed Heirlooms. It features flavors of vanilla cream, dried apricot, candied ginger, and honeysuckle, with a creamy body supported by bright acidity.
